We had an amazing week in our awesome classroom! The children have been super and we are really enjoying our time together! This week we focused on the letter T and the number 20. The children learned that T is a consonant, the sound of T, the formation of the capital and lowercase T, and we did many activities surrounding the letter T. The children also learned all about the number 20. They practiced the formation, counted 20 objects, learned the word twenty, showed 20 in ten frames and tally marks, and added 20 beads to a pipe cleaner. We also were so fascinated learning about the solar eclipse on Monday and being able to witness it with our special glasses. It is hard to believe that the next time this happens- our little friends will be adults! We planted seeds to grow beautiful flowers this week. The children learned that plants and flowers need soil, water and sun to grow. We also learned the parts of the flower; roots, stem, leaves, and petals. They also learned the jobs of each part of the plant or flower. In our Scholastic Magazine, the children identified poison ivy and analyzed how goats helped a park with a poison ivy problem. They enjoyed the videos and games that went along with this lesson. The children love having a part in our smart board lessons! The best part of our week was of course having our special guy come for donuts. The children were so excited to spend this time with their dad or pop. We hope they enjoyed it as well and loved their little gifts. These memories will last a lifetime!
