We began the week with a fabulous assembly from Science Explorers! The children loved all the exciting experiments! Our friends can be part of the weekly class next year when they are in kindergarten.
We reviewed the oval shape and the color orange this week. We focused on the letter E. We learned that E is a vowel, the long and short sound of E, the formation of E and we did many activities surrounding the letter E. We had fun learning about elephants, making elephant crafts and sequencing the size of elephants in math.
We continuing reviewing the numbers 1-5 and the formation. We practiced counting to 10 and recognizing numbers 1-10 with a pumpkin activity. We count everyday in class, we are counting forward to our 100 day celebration!
We learned and discussed all the ways we can help in religion. We can help at home and at school and it makes God and others so happy when we help!
We discussed the season of autumn in science and how beautiful it is this time of year. The children made painted trees using the colors of autumn. We talked about the parts of the tree and practiced writing the words. The children are doing a wonderful job with all their classroom work. Please remember to review and practice all things learned at school.
Reminder- There is no school for students on Friday, October 18 for parent/teacher conferences. If you would like a conference, please sign up on Option C.
Bottle of Hope- The service club has a yearlong service project called The Bottle of Hope. All classrooms have a bottle and we are collecting loose change. Please send in your loose change throughout the year. The donations will be given to various charities. We will be having competitions for the classrooms who collect the most money.
Secret Readers- We love having our family members surprise us by reading to the class. If you are interested in being a secret reader, please email me to set up a time. Remember, don't tell your child because we like to see their happy faces when you surprise them. All readers must have their clearances.
